Traction will build a catenary system on the route to the Beskids.

On 13 July this year, Trakcja concluded a contract with PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe worth over PLN 16 million net to carry out design and construction works related to the reconstruction of the catenary system on the routes between the Bronów-Skoczów stations for the task entitled: “The reconstruction of the catenary system in the Bronów-Wisła Głębce section”.

The implementation of the task under the project “Improvement of safety and elimination of operational hazards on the railway network – Silesia Region” will include: preparation of engineering documentation, comprehensive reconstruction of the catenary system on sections Bronów-Bieniowiec, Chybie-Bieniowiec, Bieniowiec-Pierściec and Pierściec-Skoczów including replacement of 46-year-old catenary poles. Under the contract signed, new catenary system support structures will be built on precast pile foundations; all disconnectors on the designed catenary system will be replaced. The task provides for the construction of earth fault and electric shock protection systems together with structure bonding and adjustment of the catenary system.

The task is planned to be completed by the end of 2020.
